Jeremy Lin News: 'Linsanity' Star A Fit For Mavs If They Lose Monta Ellis?

A lot of people, especially Jeremy Lin fans, were expecting a lot from the former Harvard standout when he transferred to Los Angeles last season.

Unfortunately, things did not go his way. After training as a backup point guard to Steve Nash, Lin found himself in the starting position after the latter suffered another season-ending injury, which eventually led to his retirement.

Still, Lin has performed quite well for the Lakers. During the 2014-15 season, the 26-year-old point guard averaged 15.7 points, 6.4 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.5 steals, which is not far from his performance with Houston for the last two seasons.

But because of Linsanity which took place several years ago, fans and critics cannot help but compare Lin's performance then and now.

However, a post from Mavs Money Ball indicated that Lin could be a great replacement for Monta Ellis in case the scorer decides to leave Dallas. On the other hand, even though Ellis stays, Lin could still be a good back up point guard.

In the post, Lin could see himself fitting well in a Dallas offense that thrives on ball-passing, pick-and-roll, and team play, not to mention he will be re-united with Tyson Chandler and Chandler Parsons, who he played with during his stints with the Knicks and Rockets respectively.

Meanwhile, a commenter pointed out that Lin could also be a good fit for the Bulls, who hav been a defensive-minded team for years. Because more Chicago players can defend well, Lin will get a lot of help during his usual defensive lapses.
