Jeremy Piven 'Wisdom of The Crowd' Renewed or Canceled? Former 'Entourage' Actor Denies Sexual Misconduct

Are the sexual misconduct allegations affecting Jeremy Piven's new show, "Wisdom of the Crowd" on CBS? The network is said to be looking into the matter but the actor denied the groping even happened.

Piven issued a statement to debunk actress Ariane Bellamar's claims. She posted on Twitter that the actor cornered her and grabbed her breast and bottom while working on the defunct show "Entourage," which aired from 2004 to 2011 on HBO.

"Longmire" actress Cassidy Freeman also accused Piven of predatory behavior. She wasn't explicit about her accusations but she hinted on Instagram that Piven attempted to do something to her while she was younger.

Piven has yet to answer Freeman's allegation. Bellamar, however, received a backlash for coming out about the sexual misconduct. There were doubts about her claim because Bellamar wasn't in the "Entourage" credits and she worked as a Playboy model.

Meanwhile, Piven returned to the set of "Wisdom of the Crowd" last Wednesday as filming has not shut down. CBS, however, has not given the show a second season renewal yet the network recently ordered additional three episodes from the 13 previously commissioned.

The actor plays Jeffrey Tanner, a Silicon Valley billionaire who built a crowd-sourcing app that allows the public to help solve crime cases. Ratings for "Wisdom of the Crowd," which airs Monday nights, average around 7.8 million viewers weekly but its chances of returning next season are still up in the air.

Days before Bellamar's tweet, Piven actually talked about sexual harassment and his "Entourage" character with The Daily Beast. Piven played Ari Gold in the HBO series, who was characterized as a powerful Hollywood agent who was charismatic but egocentric, insensitive and unapologetic of his bad behavior.

Piven, however, said he's hardly like his character in real life.

"It's really disturbing to me when someone comes up to me and says, 'Hey bro, I'm a douchebag because of you.' It hurts my soul," Piven said. "If you're talking about my personal ideology, it's the antithesis of Ari Gold."
