Joey Feek Health Update: Country Star Spent Christmas Morning Out of Bed with Family

Rory Feek, the other half of country duo Joey + Rory and husband of Joey Feek, could not contain his joy after celebrating Christmas and New Year with his terminally-ill wife one more time. According to Daily Mail, Rory posted a touching entry on his blog, "This Life I Live," wherein he shared how he and Joey spent the holidays together with their family.

"In early November, Christmas seemed still so far away. And the prognosis was clear that there was a good chance Joey wasn't going to be with us then and that this Christmas was going to be a difficult one to get through," Rory wrote on his blog.

But Joey lived long enough to enjoy the most wonderful time of the year and what better way to celebrate it than to be surrounded by family and friends. As shared in Rory's blog, Joey got out of bed to spend quality time with the family especially with their now 23-month-old daughter Indiana.

In another recent blog post, Rory shared that the holidays have been a "rollercoaster ride" for Joey. He detailed that there were days that were good and then there were days too that were bad and hurt so much because not everything can be handled by the morphine.

He revealed that Joey felt sadness and fear of unknown. She even felt anger but, as Rory pointed out, it wasn't toward God but at her situation. He also opened up about the support he has been getting from songwriter and gospel artist Bill Gaither and his wife Gloria. According to People, the Gaithers organized a moving vigil in November for Joey. Held at Harrison Street in Alexandria, the people who joined prayed for the Feeks.

On Tuesday, Jan. 6, Rory shared on their official Facebook account a photo of Joey happily reading a book to Indiana. It showed the opposite of what Rory said Joey has been feeling. Right now the Feeks are hoping that Joey would be able to make it to her daughter's second birthday in February. But in his most recent blog post dated Jan. 9, Rory shared that after having a few conversations with Jesus, Joey is ready to "come home" when the time comes.
