'Justice League' News: Ezra Miller's The Flash Will Not Wield a Costume-Popping Ring
While Ezra Miller is excited about his longer exposure as Barry Allen/The Flash in the upcoming "Justice League" movie, he has recently apologized in advance for his version of the character as it will be lacking one iconic element from the comic books.
After a brief stint in last year's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Suicide Squad," Miller's The Flash character is finally getting a much longer exposure in the upcoming Warner Bros DC movie "Justice League." After all, as one of the core members of the league of DC's superheroes in the movie, The Flash's is expected to showcase his share of superpowers in order to defeat the movie' big bad, Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds) and his army of parademons.
Despite Miller's excitement, he recently expressed worry that some fans may be disappointed that "Justice League" is not featuring one popular element of his character in the comic books: The costume-popping ring. After all, fans have been clamoring for the said element to be featured even on "The Flash" TV series top-billed by Grant Gustin.
"I can confirm, spoiler alert, his suit does not pop out of his ring (in the movie). Things have to progress, you know? Original Barry Allen was clearly an incredibly, incredibly clever scientist. We acknowledge and respect that. We want to apologize to the fans who are mad about the ring thing," Miller said in an interview.
To the uninitiated, the comic book version of The Flash had Barry Allen inventing a ring that pops his costume so that he can change quickly in the event that he needs to assume the identity of the scarlet speedster. While the ring was featured in the now-defunct "Justice League Unlimited" animated series, it has yet to appear in a live-action feature.
"Justice League" is slated to hit the theaters this Nov. 17.
