Justin Bieber Instagram Video Causes Tabloid Drug Accusations; Fans Doubt Reports (VIDEO)

Justin Bieber sparked malicious drug rumors after posting a video on Instagram. Fans of the singer doubted the dubious reports, however, suggesting that the stories were overblown.

To celebrate the fact that Instagram has just introduced a new video option, Justin Bieber decided to add a video post of his own. In the video, which is only a few seconds long, the pop star says: "So crazy news guys. There is video now on Instagram."

Bieber is seen in the video with a baseball cap and no shirt, revealing the singer's tattoos. He is holding the camera himself, although there appears to be others in the room laughing along. After the video was posted on Twitter, seemingly baseless accusation quickly came from tabloids that the singer appeared to be on drugs.

"Justin bieber was stoned in that IG video," one fan agreed on Twitter.

The majority of others, though, said the accusations were outrageous. It appears that the singer was only joking around.

"So making videos and laughing with your friends indicates drug use?" one person posted on the Daily Mail blog. "Then I have a serious problem."

"A person can't laugh now without the accusation of being on drugs.. Somebody could of just been funny seconds before hand... No?" a second person defended.

Later, Bieber posted on his Twitter: "Work Hard. Play Hard" Other tweets simply promoted his upcoming concert dates.

Instagram announced that it would introduce video for the first time on Thursday.

"Today, we're thrilled to introduce Video on Instagram and bring you another way to share your stories. When you go to take a photo on Instagram, you'll now see a movie camera icon. Tap it to enter video mode, where you can take up to fifteen seconds of video through the Instagram camera," Instagram said in a blog on its website.
