Kate Middleton Pregnant News Update: Duchess Spends Quality Time with Prince George Before New Baby Arrives
Like most mothers, Kate Middleton is aware that things are about to change once she gives birth to her second child. This is the reason why the Duchess of Cambridge is opting to spend more quality time with Prince George before his new sibling is born.
"She will be mindful that this will be one of the last opportunities for solo 'George time,'" said maternity nurse Sarah Dixon to People. "They're making the most of [their time together]."
The Duchess made sure that Prince George was having fun during the holidays as she took him to the Winter Wonderland holiday fair in London's Hyde Park.
During the visit, the mother and son enjoyed a ride on the twirling teacups. "George was smiling and laughing as they went 'round and 'round together," said an eyewitness to People. "He was really enjoying the ride with his mum. You could see it in his little face—he looked so happy."
Meanwhile, a recent survey conducted by the Daily Mail revealed that out of 15 royals that were surveyed, the Duchess was the one who had the least number of engagements attended during the year. She attended 76 engagements in 2014. The Queen's husband, Prince Philip, attended more than 200 engagements, while the Queen attended 375 engagements.
The publication reports that aides have always insisted that the Duchess wants to focus her efforts on being a wife and mother for the first few years of her royal life. Sources close to the Duchess told the Daily Mail that she has the support of the Queen with regards to her decision, and that the Queen is perfectly happy to let her grandson, Prince William, and his wife enjoy the early years of their married life together before a lifetime of public duty.
