Katy Perry and John Mayer Together Again? Rumors Emerge About Ec-Couple
Katy Perry was spotted on a dinner date with her ex-boyfriend John Mayer over the weekend.
The pair started their evening by meeting up with a female friend for dinner at her home in Beverly Hills. Perry and Mayer reportedly arrived in separate cars. A source told Daily Mail that the singers took great care not to be seen together as they made their way into the house
Once the dinner party was over, the pair continued on to Perry's home, where the source said Mayer remained until 4 p.m. the following afternoon. Reps for Perry and Mayer have yet to respond to the Daily Mail's request for comment.
This is the first time that the pair has been seen together since they broke up 11 months ago. Perry and Mayer began dating in summer 2012, not long after she ended her 14-month marriage to Russel Brand.
Throughout their on-off relationship, there were occasional rumors that the pair had gotten engaged, and the most recent engagement rumor sparked right before they split in Feb. 2014.
Perry has been recently romantically linked to Diplo, whose real name is Thomas Pentz, but a source from Us Weekly says that she and Pentz were "never serious."
In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, the "Teenage Dream" singer said that she turned to therapy to deal with her breakups.
"What I've learned is that if you don't have the foundation of self-love first, you really have nowhere to pull love from to give it away," said Perry. The star also said that she needed a partner who wouldn't be intimidated by her success.
"They say they're not, but it comes out in the long run. They're threatened, or there's resentment because they don't know how to handle it."
After their split, a source from People said about the two, "Despite caring about each other very much and wanting to make it work, they are, at their core, quite different."
