'Kim Kardashian West' News: Baby Is No Longer Breech
Kim Kardashian West posted a week ago on her website that her baby's head was facing down, and fears to deliver via C-section. However, it seems like the tables have turned since the reality star just shared that her unborn son is now no longer breech.
The "Keeping Up With the Kardashian" star delivered the news on her own website, and said that her baby is now in a head-down position. According to People, Kim had a procedure done to manually turn the baby, which is called external cephalic version (ECV). "They gave me an IV with medication to relax my uterus, and then three doctors attempted to work together to turn the baby," she added. However, Kim said that the whole procedure was "so painful." She even said it might have been more painful than giving birth since there was no medication.
The procedure is said to be risky for both the mother and her baby, since the mother might go to premature labor if in case the baby got "stressed." "There was a risk that my water might break or the baby's heart rate could drop — in which case, an emergency C-section would then take place," she said. According to US Weekly, Kim is scheduled to deliver via C-section this weekend, if the procedure did not work. The good thing is that the baby is no longer breech, and Kim is thankful for her doctors, as well as her sisters and husband's support.
Despite the good news, Kim also shared that she's currently suffering from colds and sinus infection. She hopes to get better soon, since she is now on her 37th week of pregnancy, and is about to deliver soon. The baby's due date is said to be on Christmas day.
