'Kino's Journey: The Beautiful World' Episode 5 Spoilers: Travelling Duo to Visit a 'Country of Liars'
Shizu has also begun his travels and may well be featured in upcoming episodes of the Japanese action-adventure anime series, "Kino's Journey: the Beautiful World ~The Animated Series~." What type of place will he and Kino be meeting at next?
The previous episode mainly focused on Shizu and his talking Shiba Inu, Riku, as they boarded a giant ship headed for the Western continent. The two of them first appeared in the second episode wherein it was revealed that Shizu was the son of the Coliseum's tyrannical king. After Kino killed the king and left the Coliseum in chaos, Shizu was left to decide whether to take on the role left by his father, or venture out and try to find his own path.
Now, it seems that he has chosen to do the latter. And after an unexpected encounter with Kino ultimately led to an alliance against the ship country's ruling class, there is little doubt that the series is setting things up for Kino and Shizu to meet each other once again in future episodes.

Fans of the series are also pleased with the new kind of perspective into the world that Shizu's journey offers. While Kino is the type of traveler who makes it a point to not get too involved with any country, if she could help it, Shizu's reactive personality and need to set things right wherever he sees something wrong, makes for an interesting contrast.
The next episode titled "Country of Lies" may not feature a Shizu and Kino reunion too soon, but it could be setting the gears that will ultimately lead to their next encounter.
"Kino's Journey: The Beautiful World - The Animated Series" airs on Fridays at 10 p.m. JST on AT-X and late night at 12:30 a.m. JST on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and BS11.
