Kobe Bryant News: The NBA Superstar May Bid Good-Bye to the NBA, Says Reports
NBA may never be the same without Kobe Bryant playing, since a lot of rumors are speculating that the longtime Los Angeles Lakers superstar may now leave the NBA.
According to the Associated Press, Kobe hinted to his coach, Bryan Scott, that this year may now be his last season with the NBA. "We've talked about it a few days ago. Talked about it again and his feeling was, 'Coach, this might be my last year. So if possible I would like to try to play every game,'" the Los Angeles Lakers coach said.
The report said that the 37-year-old athlete had suffered multiple injuries, which include damages on his shoulder, knee, and Achilles. His injuries cut short his last three seasons, and his coach is worried if he plays back-to-back games in the current season.
According to Fox Sports, Kobe is currently playing at a below average level. The sports website pointed out that "The Black Mamba" is currently shooting 32 percent from the field, which is five percent worse from his last season. The article also added that Kobe was sent home during one of their practices by his coach, after Scott got angry with Kobe's play last week.
Latinos Health said that the 17-time All-Star player is in his last year of his basketball contract, and many speculate that Kobe will retire after this season. The basketball superstar has not yet made an official announcement about his possible retirement, but he was clear when he said that he wanted to join the U.S. Basketball team in Brazil next year for the Olympics.
During his interview with AP about the 2016 Olympics in Rio, he said, "I think it'd be awesome. A beautiful experience. I'm a global kid. I grew up in Italy, I know a lot of athletes from different parts of the world, from different sports. It'd be great to play in that environment."
