Kristin Chenoweth Weiner Song: Video of Tonight Show 'Popular' Song Goes Viral (VIDEO)
Kristin Chenoweth is trying to teach Anthony Weiner by re-writing the lyrics to hit song "Popular."
Chenoweth has admitted on "The Tonight Show" that she is fascinated with the New York mayor hopeful.
Weiner, the disgraced former Congressman, who recently returned to the public eye to join the race for New York mayor, has been plunged into a second sexting scandal with multiple revelations coming out about his sordid private life.
Chenoweth has admitted to following the Weiner news closely, and on the late night talk show joked that she hoped to help the politician by altering the lyrics to a song she made famous in the musical "Wicked."
She has said that she wanted to help Weiner become the "right kind of popular," and even got up to sing the altered lyrics.
She sang, "I'll teach you to zip your fly, you won't be that guy with a camera down his pants. I'll teach you what tweets to tweet, something clean and sweet. We'll make sure you'll get your chance to be popular. The right kind of popular. They'll think you've become a monk, though they've seen your junk. Now you'll play a different show!"
The audience laughed along and gave a rapturous applause when Chenoweth was finished, having performed the full length song, which even included a verse giving advice to Weiner's long-suffering wife.
