'Kung Fu Panda 3' News: Angelina Jolie's, Jack Black's Kids Voiced Characters In Film
Some of the children of the actors in "Kung Fu Panda 3" got to get in on the action, with E! News now reporting that Angelina Jolie's (Tigress) children, as well as Jack Black's (Po) son, and Dustin Hoffman's (Master Shifu) grandson can be heard voicing certain characters in the film.
The Jolie-Pitt children Pax (12), Zahara (10), Shiloh (9), and Knox (7) reportedly came into the studio to record voices for some animal characters in the third "Kung Fu Panda" film, as did Black's son Sammy (9) and Hoffman's grandson Gus.
"My boy actually has a voice in it," Black, who plays the lead role of Po, the Dragon Warrior, told E! News. "He plays one of the bunnies." The comedian added that he wished the movie only had one bunny since he had wanted to say, "My boy plays the bunny." Unfortunately, that was not the case as the movie probably has around "a thousand bunnies."
Though the funnyman revealed that his boys were "stoked" about the upcoming installment of the hit animated franchise, he also said that "they have to be a little contrary."
"It's part of being a kid," he explained, adding: "It's like, your dad is not the cool one. No matter how cool your dad is they have to rebel against me."
Meanwhile, Jolie disclosed that her children weren't initially excited about the prospect of getting involved with the film. "They were kind of shy," the actress said. She added that although the children have no plans so far of becoming actors, she didn't want them to miss out on the experience. According to Jolie, the kids "came in, and they had a lot of fun with it."
Kate Hudson, a newbie to the franchise, also talked about how her kids are dealing with their mom playing a character in the film. "My kids have always loved the Kung Fu Pandas, so this is really exciting for me because, you know, I'm cool mom right now," she said. Hudson, who plays the role of Mei Mei in "Kung Fu Panda 3," replaced Rebel Wilson at the last minute when the actress had to drop out of the project due to a scheduling conflict.
"Kung Fu Panda 3" lands in cinemas on Friday, Jan. 29.
