Lava V5 Launched In India, Features 13MP PDAF Camera, 5.5-Inch Display; Priced At Rs. 11,499
Indian mobile handset company Lava is apparently not intimidated with the left and right smartphone launches from more popular brands as they have introduced a new device in their line called the Lava V5. According to BGR, the company launched the handset last week as their flagship device.
They are marketing it as a mid-range camera-focused smartphone with a solid set of specs that will cost interested buyers only Rs. 11, 499 or around $169. Gadgets 360 noted that the device comes with a maximum retail price of Rs. 13, 000 or $191 and will be sold at physical retail stores, as well as multi-branded outlets. It's also available online via eBay India.
As for the specs and features of the device, Android Authority detailed that the Lava V5 comes with a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. Its outward appearance doesn't exactly give off a premium look as it comes with only a plastic back panel and metallic edges.
Under the hood, one will find a 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core 64-bit processor paired with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and a Mali-T720 GPU for graphics. Its built-in storage is 16 GB and it can be expanded further up to 32 GB via microSD card slot. It will run with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop but it will be upgradeable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The Lava V5 also boasts a 13-megapixel rear camera that features phase detection autofocus (PDAF), f2.0 aperture, 5P Largan lens Blue glass filter and dual LED flash. Meanwhile, the front comes with an 8-megapixel camera with f2.2 aperture and an 84-degree wide angle lens. It also comes with a front LED flash. Moreover, the V5 is equipped as well with other camera features like Pic Focus, Wide Selfie, Night Pro, GIF Maker, Intelligent Selfie and multi-angle view.
The device also offers 4G LTE connectivity and is powered with 3,000 mAh battery with Super Power Saving mode to provide extended battery life.
