LG G Flex 2 Release Date, Specs Review: Features New Curve Technology
LG started the trend of manufacturing phones with a curve, and the LG G Flex, the company's banana-shaped phone turned heads and impressed a lot of people with its innovative design. Now, the company launched the follow up at CES 2015—The LG G Flex 2.
While the phone has the same curved shape as its predecessor, it has new specs and dimensions that make it an entirely fresh and new device.
The G Flex 2 has a self-healing back, and light scratches on the phone disappear in a matter of seconds. The buttons are located at the back of the phone. The volume up and down buttons flank the home button from the top and bottom. The phone comes in two colors: the classic Platinum Silver, and the eye-catching Flamenco Red.

The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor backed up by 2GB of RAM. As for internal storage, the G Flex 2 comes in 16GB and 32GB models, but with the help of a microSD card, the memory can be expanded up to 2TB. The phone has a 13MP rear-facing camera, and a 2.1MP front shooter.
The LG G Flex 2 has a Full HD OLED display which measures 5.5 inches with a pixel count of 403 pixels per inch. The plastic display is not as flexible as one might expect, but when pressed down it turns quite flat, but it springs back to its original curved shape in seconds.
According to Techradar, LG head of smartphone planning, Dr. Ram-chan Woo, gave everyone at CES 2015 a demonstration of how durable the phone is at the device's unveiling. Woo reportedly sat on the phone, and the LG G 2 Flex remained unscathed.
The LG G Flex 2 will be available in late January in South Korea and then in the rest of the world.
