Liberal Mom Laments Disappearance of Real Gender Rights

Kristen Quintrall is a young, modern mom exposed to the ever-changing norms of modern society. However, an uncomfortable situation she experienced challenged her tolerance to other people's quirky behavior and she now questions whether society has gone overboard with its political correctness.

In her blog, Kristen narrated that while waiting for her turn at a restroom in Disneyland, a "burly man" fell in line with them. At first, she thought the guy did so by mistake or he was looking for his wife or daughter, but she soon realized his intention of going inside the ladies' room to use its facilities.

She wasn't alone in that bewilderment as she saw other women casting quizzical looks at the man, but none of them dared speak out.

"If this had been five years ago, you bet you're a** every woman in there would've been like, 'Ummm what are you doing in here?' But in 2017? The mood has shifted. We had been culturally bullied into silence," Kristen wrote, referring to the acceptance of biological men in the ladies' room.

Every woman in that room didn't speak out for fear of being branded as an "intolerant a**hole," she went on. An elderly woman who couldn't bear her discomfort with the guy's presence "walked out from a bathroom she had every right to use without fear."

"My problem wasn't JUST that there was a man in the restroom," Kristen pointed out. "He was just standing off to the side looking smug ... untouchable ... doing absolutely nothing. He had to have noticed that every woman in the long line was staring at him. He didn't care."

Kristen closed her post by saying the gender debate needs to be addressed quickly. "We can't leave this situation ambiguous anymore," she wrote. "There has to be guidelines." She also thinks that the notion of being shamed into silence for fear of offending others has gone too far.

"There were 20-25 people by the time I left who were scared and uncomfortable by his ominous presence. And the only thing stopping us was our fear of political correctness and that the media has told us we don't know what gender is anymore. I never want to be in the position again," she concluded.
