'Limitless' News: CBS' Newest Crime Drama Holds Its Ground Against Other Shows
More and more viewers are getting addicted to watching "Limitless" on CBS. In the recent ratings game that was released, the show placed 13th among the 18-49 demographics, which proves that it can battle with veterans like "Gotham" and "Once Upon a Time."
According to TV By The Numbers, "Limitless" is tied with "Gotham" and "Chicago Fire" in 13th place, and the Jake McDorman starrer defeats well-known shows like "Survivor," "The Flash," and even "NCIS: Los Angeles."
"Limitless" definitely has added more comedy to the normally serious crime drama series, which explains its success with the ratings game. Vulture even said that the show is at its best when the story leans toward being more comedic. Last Tuesday's episode, for example, when the scene where Brian took a case was becoming very serious, he made sure that the technical part in explaining "hacking" was presented in a very fun montage. "I just don't know what happens during the typing part. Or even what the word hacking means exactly," he said prior to the montage.
However, despite of its "charm," "Limitless" still takes its issues more seriously like what was seen at the end of the last episode. Brian's dad, Dennis (Ron Rifkin), wanted him to quit the FBI after he found out about NZT, and learned what Brian really does for them. When Brian declined to leave the FBI, Dennis went directly to SAC Nasreen "Naz" Pouran (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio), and held her responsible for anything that may happen to Brian.
Viewers saw the seriousness in Brian's dad when he made the threat to Naz, and fans love the mixture of drama on the show, but mostly the comedy part of it.
"Limitless" airs every Tuesday on CBS, but the show is currently on a hiatus now.
