Lionel Richie Disapproves of His Daughter's Romance with Scott Disick
Singer Lionel Richie recently expressed his disapproval of his daughter Sofia Richie and Scott Disick's ongoing romance.
Scott, 34, and Sofia, 19, appear to be getting quite serious about their relationship since the couple has grown more public about showing their affection towards each other. And as expected of a father, Lionel is concerned and even terrified for his daughter.
In an interview with US Weekly during the New York leg of the "American Idol" auditions on Wednesday, Oct. 4, the famous musician said, "Have I been in shock!? I'm the dad, come on."
When asked if he is happy about their relationship, he answered, "I am scared to death. Are you kidding me?"
The model also shared a video on Instagram of her father imparting his wisdom, which actually appears to be about his daughter's relationship. In the clip, he says that people that do not need to be in one's life will usually come into the picture anyway. He deals with it by asking the universe to remove all things that should not be in his life with grace and dignity and by asking to bring all the thing that should be in his life closer to him.
Sofia and Scott have reportedly been dating since Sept. The relationship became official when things pretty much escalated while they were in New York City together.
Paparazzi recently caught the pair packing on the PDA while they were on vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Sofia also shared photos of her and her new boyfriend on Instagram.
Scott has three children with Kourtney Kardashian: Mason, 7, Penelope, 5, and Reign, 2. The pair were photographed multiple times locking lips as they enjoyed riding jet skis.
An unnamed source informed US Weekly that Scott's relationship with the model is a bit weird but not entirely surprising. Nevertheless, she wishes him happiness.
"Kourtney just wants Scott to be his old self," the source said." She shares three kids with him, so she'll always want the best for him and will always make sure he's happy."
