Los Angeles Lakers Trade Rumors, News: Eric Bledsoe, Greg Monroe Could Join Jeremy Lin After Kevin Love Miss
The LA Lakers will be looking towards the new season with hope after suffering a difficult 2013-2014 season. The Lakers have been trying to bolster their roster this offseason, and in the latest rumors the team could be considering a Greg Monroe trade or free agent signing after missing out on Kevin Love.
Of course the Lakers have already acquired the services of Jeremy Lin, who will now become the starting point guard. However, the team will want to gain a few more reinforcements if possible over the coming weeks.
Both Eric Bledsoe and Greg Monroe have been mentioned in trade rumors recently, according to ESPN. Their agents are known to be out and about looking at potential deals for the restricted free agents. That has led some to tout that the Lakers could be an option, but maybe a bit later down the line.
The Lakers do have cap space in the future and that would allow them to bring in names such as Bledsoe and Monroe. The Lakers have shown some interest in Bledsoe previously, but those talks never developed far at that time. Could the Lakers return to him to bolster their roster.
The Lakers have already signed back Wesley Johnson as well as Xavier Henry, and those two will join players like Julius Randle and Jeremy Lin, who are also new to the line up in Los Angeles.
It does look like the Lakers are forming a much deeper team than last season and that could put them in a much better position for the marathon that is the regular season. Not many believe they can win the west, but the Playoffs are a good possibility and Lakers fans will enter the new season with big hopes that at the end of the regular season slog, they will have the postseason to look forward to.
