'Love Live! Sunshine!!' Season 2 Episode 5 Spoilers: Riko to Take in a Dog?

Aqours may not have made it to the nationals in the previous season, but the girls are just as determined to make it through the next event on the second season of the Japanese music-themed anime series, "Love Live! Sunshine!!"

True enough, the girls of Aqours have just passed the Love Live! Qualifiers, and were thus looking for ways to raise money to sustain their activities.

On the other hand, the episode also saw prideful band member Dia making some efforts to get more personal and familiar with her co-members. In the end, however, Kanan, Mari and the rest of their group approach Dia to express their admiration for the said member's mature and responsible attitude.

And because it has always been Dia's job to keep the other girls in line, her co-members assured her that she did not need to go to such lengths to change how she's always been for the sake of protecting their group.

And now that this small bump in their bond has been patched up, the preview for the next episode titled "Taking in a Dog" teases what could possibly be a Riko-centric narrative.

It can be recalled that Riko, the hardworking composer of the group, has an intense fear of dogs. Is the episode a direct reference to her, and could she actually be stuck with taking care of a dog? If so, how will this change the way she looks at these furry creatures?

Could spending some quality time with a dog be all that Riko needs to overcome her fear?

"Love Live! Sunshine!!" season 2 airs on Saturdays at 10:30 p.m. JST on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and KBS Kyoto. Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site. Episodes are also available in selected regions outside Japan via Crunchyroll.
