'Lucifer' Season 3 Plot News, Trailer: Marcus Pierce Introduced in Sneak Peek

A sneak-peek into the third season of "Lucifer" features Tom Welling as police lieutenant Marcus Pierce.

As revealed in the trailer, when Pierce arrives at the station, he approaches the police consultant and wastes no time to introduce himself.

Chloe Decker (Lauren German) then joins in on the formalities and introduces herself. Pierce tells her that he is aware of who she is, that she is "Lucifer's partner." Before she could emphasize that it is the other way around, Pierce who seemed to be unenthused about the conversation walked out, leaving Chloe tongue-tied.

"He's definitely gonna antagonize Lucifer and Decker," Welling said about his character.

From that instance, Chloe realizes that her consultant/partner is now more famous than she is. This is most likely what makes her realize that she needs to grow further as a detective.

As previously reported, in the upcoming season, Chloe will distance herself from Lucifer to figure things out on her own instead of relying on her partner. This separation will be hard on both of them since they have already formed quite a bond.

Their connection will grow even stronger when Lucifer reveals his true identity to his partner. Though the homicide detective appears to be able to grasp the truth, she does not understand why the devil has angel wings.

To note, the identity of the character who knocked Lucifer out and gave him wings last season has yet to be revealed. Whatever his intentions were, Lucifer becomes more of a devil when someone wants him to behave like an angel.

Another guest star slated to appear next season is Mikaela Hoover. Her character's name has yet to be revealed but she is expected to portray a social media-crazed personality who makes her followers think she leads a life of luxury.

"Lucifer" season 3 premieres on Monday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
