The MacBook Pro 2013 release date will likely drop on October 25, just three days following the Apple Event scheduled for Oct. 22, according to reports.

The new Haswell-powered MacBook Pro line-up is one of the most eagerly anticipated among Apple's products this year, and many have been waiting months for news of upgraded MacBook Pro's release.

As the release date draws near, rumors of the device's various specs and features have been firming up, and there are certain rumors that most are predicting with fair certainty that Apple fans can expect when the new MacBook Pro is released.

Most analysts believe that Apple will use the same formula it used last year for its new MacBook Pro line-up; that means there will be Retina Display and non-Retina Display builds.

The portable Macs are expected to be available in the regular 13 and 15-inch versions, and buys should be able to select from Retina and non-Retina models – with the Retina of course fetching a higher price tag.

The new notebook will pack Intel's Haswell, which should give it enough power to compete with anything on the market right now. The MacBook Pro's will feature extended battery life, which should last for a minimum of 12 hours even for the most power-hungry users.

Some rumors have predicted that the Mac Pro will be more expensive, to compensate for many major upgrades this year. That means the price of the MacBook Pro may also increase slightly – however, as Apple will be eying competitors, the increase is not believed to be too excessive.

Much has also been made of the new Mavericks OS X, which should come pre-installed on the new Pros.

For those wanting to upgrade to the Mavericks OS, there is likely to be a price to pay – but it should be reasonably cheap. The previous OS, Mountain Lion, was priced at $20, and most expect the Mavericks to be a similar price or even slightly cheaper.

The new Apple Event will also likely see the release of the new iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2. The iPad 5 is rumored to feature a design similar to the old iPad mini. That means it will be significantly thinner, lighter, and will give it smaller side bezels.

The iPad 5 is also expected to come with the same 64-bit A7 processor as the iPhone 5S and an 8-megapixel camera.

The new iPad Mini 2 will also feature the new processor, an 8-megapixel camera, and a Retina Display.
