'Marvel Heroes Omega' PS4 and Xbox One Release Date Schedule Update: Game Set to Arrive Spring 2017

Gaming is considered as one of the strongest form of entertainment nowadays. As such, Marvel is crossing over from comics, film, and series onto video games as "Marvel Heroes Omega" arrives on consoles this spring.

The announcement trailer shows that it will be the biggest gathering of superheroes, from the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-men and a lot more. The featured gameplay appears like a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) as various heroes fight side by side against hordes of enemies.

While it does have that sort of feel, the game also possesses a story campaign spanning over nine chapters. In this mode, the main antagonists are Doctor Doom and Loki, who will be waiting for the player to confront them.

For the console versions, there will be 38 playable characters readily available. Aside from that, there will be a lot of costumes available for the heroes, thus not one character will be the same with that of another player.

As far as the content is concerned, the PC version "Marvel Heroes" obviously has bigger content than that of the console. It is clarified, however, that more will be added in updates in the coming months.

In an interview with Marvel, lead game designer Ben Gilbert shares his excitement of finally launching the game on console. He explains that the team has worked hard to translate the experience over to PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Xbox One and hopes it will be something players will enjoy.

"I think that one of the first things players will notice is how 'Marvel Heroes Omega' plays with console controllers," Gilbert says. "Translating a mouse and keyboard control scheme to console wasn't easy, but I think 'Marvel Heroes Omega' feels great and I hope players agree!"

More information about the console version can be found here. There is no specific date yet, but "Marvel Heroes Omega" can be expected as a free-to-play title within spring.
