'Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite' Rolls Out; Venom, Black Widow, and Winter Soldier to Join Hero Roster as DLC

"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will be joined by a number of new characters available as DLC in the near future.

The latest installment of the ever-popular fighting game series "Marvel vs. Capcom" has finally been released today, Sept. 19. With it comes a whole new set of characters who would be joining the much-loved roster of heroes. Black Panther and Sigma of "Mega Man X" had already been announced to become a part of the characters available as DLC, but now, four new names have been revealed to join the roster.

It has been confirmed that Venom, the Winter Soldier, Black Widow and a female Monster Hunter will be coming to the title. For Venom, this isn't the first time that the evil symbiote had appeared in the game as he already made an appearance in the first two games of the series. He will now be making a big comeback in "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite."

"We know there has been much speculation on who the remaining four DLC characters will be, and we are happy to announce that Monster Hunter, Winter Soldier, Black Widow and the shape-shifting Venom will all be battling their way into Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite later this year. We are hard at work on these characters and can't wait to show them to you when they are ready!" Capcom said in a statement.

As for Black Widow, a.k.a. Russian spy Natasha Romanoff, she is the only character out of all the original Avengers to not be included in the original roster. Thankfully, she is getting the highlight she deserves in this new installment. Furthermore, it is also quite noticeable how four of these new characters come from the Marvel universe with only Sigma and the Monster Hunter coming from Capcom. These new developments had inevitably tipped the balance of Marvel and Capcom heroes with the advantage going to the former.

There is no word, however, regarding what roles these characters would play in the game. However, the female Monster Hunter would be making an appearance in the story mode.

"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" is available now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
