'Marvel's The Punisher' Latest News: Frank Castle Dons His Iconic Skull Vest in Newly Released Trailer
Netflix has finally released the official action-packed trailer for their upcoming series "Marvel's The Punisher."
Frank Castle, a.k.a. "The Punisher," is very much alive in the new trailer released by Netflix and by the looks of it the show will pick up where "Daredevil" has left off.
The trailer opens with a dream-like sequence showcasing Castle's mediocre life with his wife and child until their house is broken into by armed masked men that then murders his family. Filled with vengeance, Frank Castle, as portrayed by "The Walking Dead" actor Jon Bernthal, goes into anti-hero mode donning his iconic skull vest and diving deep into New York City's criminal underground where he unleashes the full might of his fury. Complications arise when he is thrust into the heart of a conspiracy and is pursued by the FBI and Homeland Security.
While the trailer is all about Frank Castle and his vendetta against crime, it also introduced some of the important characters featured on the show such as Microchip played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
Microchip is one of "The Punisher's" most trusted allies in the comics and is his go-to person whenever he needs information.
Deborah Ann Wol, who played Karen Page in "Daredevil" and "The Defenders," will also be part of the show along with Ben Barnes and Amber Rose Revah as a Homeland Security agent.
Frank Castle first appeared on the second season of "Daredevil" where he worked alongside Daredevil Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) to get rid of the gangs in Hell's Kitchen. And by popular demand, he was given his own series by Netflix all thanks to a great reception and performance by Bernthal.
But to the frustration of the fans, Netflix has yet to announce a release date for "Marvel's The Punisher." However, the show is more or likely to air sometime in November once "Stranger Things 2" has started airing and the new "Thor: Ragnarok" is released in cinemas.
