'Mary Poppins Returns' Movie News: The Songs Are Incredibly Magical, John Krasinski Says

A lot of Disney classics are well-renowned for their timeless songs and rhythms. "Mary Poppins" is arguably one of the most memorable, and as its sequel "Mary Poppins Returns" is in the works, will it have the same, if not, better appeal?

Luckily, John Krasinski was able to listen to the new compositions, which he described to be wonderful. Krasinski is the husband of Emily Blunt, who plays the iconic role of Mary Poppins, and because of that connection he was able to get first dibs on the music.

Krasinski told Cinema Blend, "I have heard, I think, nearly all of [the new songs]. And listen, it's not hard to make me cry. But I cried at almost every single one of them. It is so incredibly magical, and I am so honored to have heard it. It's going to be something so special, I don't think people are even ready for it. I was blown away."

Of course, given that it follows the footsteps of another legendary musical, that is a steep order but a strict requirement. The original film catapulted Julie Andrews in the limelight, and this just make Blunt's already bright star even brighter.

The music is a part of the magic that solidifies the whole experience. Another is the live action that brings the classic back to life once more.

Metro was able to get photos of Emily Mortimer and Ben Whishaw, who plays the roles of Jane and Michael Banks respectively, prancing about gleefully. From the looks of it, they may be shooting a part where there's singing and dancing.

Daily Mail has also obtained more photos with Blunt as Mary Poppins, sporting the recognizable outfit and giving a stern but firm look. There are also flying bicycles everywhere, so magic is never out of the picture.

"Mary Poppins Returns" is set to bring happiness once more in cinemas on Dec. 25, 2018.
