Michael Chiklis Is Keen on Reprising Role as the Thing in 'Fantastic Four'
Actor Michael Chiklis is keen to reprise his role as the Thing in the next movie in the "Fantastic Four" franchise. On Friday, the actor expressed through a tweet that he would love to return as the monstrous creature now that Disney has finally closed the $60-B deal with 20th Century Fox.
As Disney acquired Fox's key assets last week, the studio now has the right to use characters from "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" franchise in Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since this acquisition promises to tremendously change the landscape of the entertainment industry in the coming years, Marvel fans are worried how this move might affect the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is currently doing a great job at outperforming its rival.
Since the Disney-Fox merger, several jokes have spread across social media, including that of Ryan Reynolds, who joked about a possible Deadpool-Mickey Mouse crossover over the weekend. Chris Evans also jokingly tweeted about pitching a hilarious Captain America and "Fantastic Four's" Human Torch team-up movie.

The latest actor to gain a lot of attention after the merger is Chiklis, who played the Thing in "Fantastic Four" 1 and 2. On Friday, the actor tweeted an image of the character punching the Hulk, along with the caption: "Could it be clobberin' time?" The tweet suggests that Chiklis is gearing up for his MCU closeup now that Disney has acquired Fox's "Fantastic Four" property.
One of the most dreamed-of faceoffs in the history of MCU is that of Hulk and the Thing. Both characters have pretty much the same physique, and many wonder how each of them will fare when they battle out on the big screen. Chiklis played the Thing in 2005's "Fantastic Four" and 2007's "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer." Disney has yet to announce any plans to reboot the franchise, but fans can expect an announcement next year or so.
