Microsoft Lumia 940 Specs Leaked; Features Windows 10 Mobile OS
With Microsoft only unveiling the newly re-branded Lumia 535, many would think that the firm would be treading the market slowly with low-end budget handsets for now. However, the company is looking to start with the high-end smartphone market as there are already rumors that the specs for a Lumia 940 were leaked.
The spec sheet has revealed that the new Microsoft flagship will be sporting a Windows 10 mobile OS. Additionally, the handset is rumored to be getting a 5.0-inch screen with a full HD (1920 x 1080) display resolution protected by a next-gen Gorilla Glass 4.
Inside, the handset is rumored to get a Snapdragon 805 chipset with a quad-core 2.7GHz processor and an Adreno 420 GPU. Three storage options are to be expected, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB variants all with 3GB of RAM. The phone will also be getting a 24-megapixel PureView camera.
The alleged Lumia 940 is also supposedly a full millimeter thinner than the Nokia Lumia 930 flagship which was first announced April earlier this year.
Since the handset is to sport the still unreleased Windows 10 OS, its official release could be placed late next year, the same period the Windows 10 will be released.
Alongside the rumored Lumia 940, Microsoft is also planning on working on a new Windows phablet, to be called the Lumia 1330. The phablet could be an iteration of the Nokia Lumia 1320, which was released last year with mid-range specs.
