'Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor' Recieves Good Reception, Free DLC Released
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment recently released "Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor" for the Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with a subsequent release for last-gen consoles coming this November. The game was developed by Monolith Productions for the next-gen consoles and received great reviews, while Behaviour Interactive developed the last-gen ports.
The game is an action role-playing game where players take on the role of Talion, a ranger captain who is garrisoned at the Black Gate. The garrison is attacked by Sauron's Uruk forces led by 3 Black Numenorean captains where they kill Talion and his family.
Talion is then revived by a wraith named Celebrimbor, the Elven smith master who forged the rings of power. With Talion's skills as a ranger coupled with his wraith-like powers, they embark on a journey to discover Celebrimbor's past and avenge Talion's slain family.
Weeks after the game's release, it has received good reception and critical reviews and earned an IGN score of 9.3/10, and 4.5/5 stars on GamesRadar.
Lucas Sullivan from GamesRadar had described the game as "the greatest Lord of the Rings game to date," adding that the game had "one of the most entertaining open-world adventures around."
Only recently, the developers had announced a free DLC download for the game.
"Today, we're proud to announce the brand new FREE Power of Shadow DLC pack, including the playable Black Hand of Sauron skin, and three Epic Runes," the Monolith blog wrote.
The three epic runes include "One with Nature," "Ascendant," and "Elven Grace."
