'Mighty Ducks 4' Rumors: 'Goldbergs' Creator Pitches Sequel to Disney

There has been a lot of speculation on whether "Mighty Ducks 4" will still materialize or not, and "The Goldbergs" creator Adam F. Goldberg said he pitched the sequel to Disney, but the feedback was not quite positive.

Adam F. Goldberg recently revealed that he pitched a short treatment for a "Mighty Ducks" sequel, but Disney only dropped it like a hot potato. It seems that Disney wanted to do a feature film on anything except "Mighty Ducks 4," according to Cinema Blend (CB).

Earlier in October, Goldberg spoke to Nerdist Podcast in an interview and talked about his knack for writing movie sequels and trying to make them happen. When he created a 20-page treatment for "Mighty Ducks 4," he tried to pitch it to Disney because he heard the firm wanted to do a feature film and everyone wanted to support him back then, especially when "The Goldbergs" took off in 2013, Movie Web reports.

"And then my agent is like 'He has Mighty Ducks 4.' And they were like, 'We're out!'" CB quotes Goldberg's statement to Nerdist. "So, it was like 'anything but Mighty Ducks 4!'"

Goldberg said Mighty Ducks was a big part of his life because he and his brother Barry could relate to it. They used to pretend they were the Ducks when they played hockey together. Aside from the name connection with the goalie, the movie had a sentimental value to him, the report details.

However, Disney may have been aiming for a more original film, thus it rejected the "Mighty Ducks 4" pitch. On the other hand, the giant movie firm may be simply not interested to do a hockey story at the time that Goldberg did the pitch.

Last year, Ducks star Joshua Jackson reportedly teased a possibility of "Mighty Ducks 4" coming to pass. Unfortunately, there is no recent evidence that the Ducks will be flying together on screen once again.
