Model Kate Upton Marries Houston Astros Star Justin Verlander in Intimate Wedding

Kate Upton and Justin Verlander have officially tied the knot.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model and the Houston Astros star got married on Saturday, Nov. 4, just days after Verlander's World Series Win. Reports note the newlyweds said their vows in a lavish ceremony in Italy. The pair's closest friends and family were in attendance as they celebrated their big day at the Rosewood Castiglion Del Bosco resort.

Latest photos from the event show the "Other Woman" actress and her spouse all-smiles as they greeted their guests. While walking down the aisle, Upton wore a long-sleeve lace gown as she held a bouquet of rustic flowers. Verlander, on the other hand, looked dapper with his classic black tuxedo. Upton's sisters Christie and Laura served as her bridesmaids.

Upton has already traveled to various places around the globe because of her job. Although she has shot in exotic locales throughout her modelling career, the 25-year-old admitted that finding the perfect place for their honeymoon was not a piece of cake.

"I want to go on a safari for the honeymoon so bad, but he's not...I don't know," she told PEOPLE in February.

"Every year I tell him I want to go on a safari and every year for a gift he'll get me like a stuffed animal tiger. Or like flowers from Africa, not the same," she added with a laugh, "Like you want to go to the zoo?"

Upton has been dating Verlander since early 2014. He proposed to her before the baseball season started in 2016 with a custom-designed ring he made with jeweler Anita Ko. The couple did not announce their engagement until the Met Gala last year.
