Mortal Kombat X Trailer Video Released: Scopion vs. Sub-Zero in Gruesome Battle, Game Coming in 2015 (WATCH)

The Mortal Kombat X trailer video was finally released Monday, and after hints and teasing of the game for some time fans can watch Scorpion and Sub-Zero in a lethal battle to the death. Mortal Kombat X is the tenth iteration of the longtime gruesome fighting game franchise and will be released in 2015.

Mortal Kombat X's trailer shows Scorpion and Sub-Zero going at it in a ruthless battle. During the fight Sub-Zero creates weapons using his iconic freezing powers, freezes his opponent, and even breaks off a branch to beat Scorpion. The demon ninja responds by teleporting, using flames and spearing Sub-Zero with his chains.

Mortal Kombat X will most likely be released for mostly next-generation systems, if the official statement is any indication.

"Fueled by next-gen technology, Mortal Kombat X combines unparalleled, cinematic presentation with dynamic gameplay to create an unprecedented Kombat experience," the trailer reads. "Who's next?" is so far the slogan for the fighting game.

Some previously speculated that only the next-generation systems— Xbox One, Playstation 4 and potentially PC— could have access to the game, but a listing for Amazon U.K. and the press release shows that the game will released for PS3 and Xbox 360 as well.

In addition to updated graphics, the game will bring back the x-ray injury feature from the 2011 reboot Mortal Kombat. That version was created by NetherRealm Studios, and the video game studio is again working on Mortal Kombat X, with production being led by Ed Boon.

"Mortal Kombat has always been about over-the-top, visceral fighting and with Mortal Kombat X we wanted to utilize the power of new-gen consoles to give players our most intense game yet," Boon, creative director of NetherRealm's said in a press release. "The team has worked hard to make sure Mortal Kombat X delivers everything fans expect along with new characters, new game modes and an all-new graphics engine."
