Motorola Moto X 2014 vs Google Nexus 5 Comparison: Review of Specs and Features
Smartphones have come a long way from being a luxury to a need, all within the decade. Manufacturers have been producing smartphones left and right and consumers are having a hard time deciding which one to get. For this comparison, we're going to take a look at Motorola's Moto X (2014) and the Google Nexus 5.
The Motorola X-2 or just simply the Motorola X 2014 is the second generation Motorola X smartphone which is more of an upgrade of the first one instead of being a new phone in itself. The Nexus 5 on the other hand is the fifth generation Nexus offering of Google and was created by LG and was codenamed "Hammerhead."
First, screen size. The Motorola X has a 5.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 (Full HD). The Nexus 5 on the other hand has a 4.95-inch true HD IPS+ touchscreen with the same screen resolution as the Motorola X (1920 x 1080 Full HD). While sporting similar screen resolutions, the Nexus 5's smaller display screen enables it have a slightly sharper display.

For the specs, the Motorola X has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, run with a quad-core 2.5GHz Krait 400 processor and an Adreno 330 GPU. It has two internal storage options, a 16GB and a 32GB and has 2GB of RAM.
The Nexus 5 on the other hand has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, and is run with a quad-core 2.3GHz Krait 400 processor and an Adreno 330 GPU. It also has the same 16GB and 32GB internal memory options and 2GB of RAM.
The Motorola X has a 13-megapixel camera while the Nexus 5 only has an 8-megapixel camera. Both run on Android 4.4.x Kitkat and may be eligible for an Android L (Android 5.0) update. While the two phones are somewhat similar in specs, the Motorola X is slightly bigger but the Nexus 5 is cheaper.
