The MTV Movie Awards 2014 takes place on Sunday night in what should be a fun and exciting night for film fans across the globe. This year will see Conan O'Brien host the awards ceremony, so expect a show packed with jokes and various on-stage antics. The Red Carpet event will start at 6.30 p.m. ET and can be watched through free live stream (details below). The main ceremony will start at 9 p.m. ET and will be shown on TV on the MTV network. It can also be watched online through free live stream (details below).

The main ceremony this year has been touted to contain an apocalyptic theme, so fans have been warned to expect lots of fire and explosions as MTV attempts to add more drama to the proceedings.

Ahead of the awards show, O'Brien has said, "It's the most flames I've ever been around in my life. I've been working in show business for a long time, and every single part of the set explodes into flames at one point during the show."

The show will feature regular main awards for Movie of the Year and Best Male and Female Performance. However, MTV also adds in a number of more unique awards, which this year include Best Kiss, Best Fight, Best Musical Moment, Best Scared-As-S*** Performance, and even Best Shirtless Performance.

MTV has also revealed that Channing Tatum will receive the third-ever Trailblazer Award, while Mark Wahlberg will be honored with the Generation Award.

Helping to build up hype for the awards show, it has been disclosed ahead of time that the ceremony will also feature preview sneak peek clips from two highly anticipated upcoming films. One of those is X-Men: Days of Future Past, where as Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx will present a new sneak peek video from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie.

Of course it wouldn't be MTV without some big musical performances and this year's awards show will feature performances by Eminem and Rihanna, who will be combining to sing "Monster."

In addition, Ellie Goulding and Zedd will each perform tunes from the Divergent soundtrack.

A tribute will also be given to the late Paul Walker. The Fast and the Furious actor died last November, and his peers and fans will hold a somber moment in his memory during the show tonight.
