NBA News 2016: Nets' Jarrett Jack Out For Season Due To Torn ACL; Nuggets' Kenneth Faried Gives Update On Injury

Two of the NBA's players have caught the injury bug, which posed respective problems for their teams.

First on the list is Brooklyn Nets point guard Jarrett Jack, who suffered both a torn ACL and a medial meniscus tear on his right knee. In a report by ESPN, the 32-year-old veteran player has been deemed out for the rest of the 2015-2016 regular season.

Jack sustained the injury late in the third period during the Nets' game against the Boston Celtics on Saturday. Brooklyn won the game with a score of 100-97. The Nets are currently situated at the number fourteen spot of the Eastern Conference standings, holding a 10-24 win-loss slate.

Throughout the team's games, so far, Jack has averaged 12.8 points, 7.4 assists, and 4.3 rebounds.

For head coach Lionel Hollins, each and every player is given a limited opportunity to play, and a professional basketball player's life can be unpredictable. Hollins also lauded Jack for making the most of his opportunities in the season, so far.

"You have a limited window in this game, just like us as individuals who don't play — and them — we have a limited window on this earth," Hollins said in a report by Seth Berkman for the New York Times. "You can eat healthy and work out every day, but when it's your time, it's your time. You have to cherish it and play it to the ilk, and he did."

The other name on the list is that of Denver Nuggets power forward Kenneth Faried. According to another report by ESPN.com, the 26-year-old Faried sustained the injury during the Nuggets' Saturday night loss to the Golden State Warriors, when he was inadvertently hit at the back of the head by teammate Will Barton.

The report adds that Faried's CT scan after the said game came out normal and that he was already able to start for the Nuggets' during their game against the Portland Trailblazers on Sunday. He was able to log in 13 points, nine rebounds, and one assist, and played 27 minutes during the said game.
