New Bose Headphones Will Have Built-in Google Assistant
The Bose QuietComfort 35 II, codenamed "bisto," is expected to be the company's first headphone unit in the series to come with a Google Assistant.
Details about the upcoming headphones have surfaced through app teardowns. Bisto is one of the codenames the tech giant has been using to refer to this category of devices in Google app.
A bose documentation obtained by 9to5Google reveal that the wireless headphones will feature a Google Assistant.
"With your Google Assistant built in, you can control music, send & receive texts, and get answers using just your voice. Just press and hold the Action button, and start talking," the product description reads.
Shortly after the publication shared the news, a Reddit user uploaded images of the headphones' retail box. Apart from the expected, noise canceling feature, the box indicates that the device will have a built-in Google Assistant.
Prior to this, last week, a tech enthusiast who wanted to purchase the original Bose QuietComfort 35 from a retailer was told by the employees that a new version is coming in two to three weeks. More importantly, the person was told that it will feature a Google Assistant.
The next installment of the QuietComfort looks exactly like its original model, except that it has a new button installed to one of its cups.
Based on previous teardowns of the Google app, it was revealed that the upcoming headphones will sport a button on the left cup. Users will use this to execute certain commands, such as listening to notifications.
The Bose QuietComfort 35 II will come in two color variants: black and silver.
Apart from the aforementioned, other notable features include a noise-rejecting dual microphone and a battery life that lasts for 20 hours.
The headphones will come with a carry case, a USB cable, as well as a 3.55 mm headphone jack.
The price of the next installment should be the same as the original model. Not much has been said about its launching but it is expected to be unveiled at Google's event on Oct. 4.
