Nintendo 3DS Direct Conference to Discuss 2014 Plans and Possible New Kirby Game

A special Nintendo Direct tomorrow will highlight upcoming games for the 3DS and perhaps reveal a number of release dates for long-anticipated games.

The conference is scheduled for an 11 a.m. start and will be live streamed on their site. Joystiq reports that Nintendo of Europe will simultaneously broadcast a Nintendo Direct as well.

Possible topics of discussion will likely revolve around the recently hinted Kirby game as well as Bravely Default: Flying Fairy. Other titles to be officially announced are Mario Golf: World Tour, and Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy.

The 3DS will be a highly sought after commodity this holiday season as many retailers are having great deals on games and accessories for the handheld.

3DS games, Lego Marvel Super Heroes, Pokemon X and Y, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, and a host of other games will get $5 to $10 off at Kmart. Certain 3DS games will go down to $15 to $24.99, while the new 2DS will get a $10 drop to $119.99.

Fans of Nintendo are hoping the company finds a way to link the Wii U and 3DS account systems into one, but so far it is not in their plans.

"We don't have anything new to announce, unfortunately, other than we've definitely heard that feedback many times from both inside and outside the company," Nintendo manager of business development Dan Adelman told Destructoid. "It's definitely something that we're very much aware of."

"All development for the infrastructure really happens out of Japan, so we've kind of communicated this need in the market, and they're very much aware of it and working towards really just always improving the eShop," he continued.

The 3DS has essentially carried Nintendo through their current rough patch as they are waiting for the Wii U to catch up. Games such as Pokemon X and y have catapulted the 3DS even further.
