Nintendo Switch Games List, Pre-Order News: Console Doing Well Despite Limited Lineup

Nintendo's newest hybrid console, the Nintendo Switch, was finally released last Friday, March 3, at an introductory price of $299. So far, the console is doing well in terms of sales and reviews despite a rather underwhelming lineup of games upon release.

The Nintendo Switch's success, however, is hugely credited to the fantasy-action game "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," which is basically the company's topmost premium game that coincided its release with the hybrid console.

The game itself garnered very good reviews and did not disappoint anticipating fans - with an average rating of 98 among gamers, placing it just behind the franchise's previous installment, "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time."

A review from TechCrunch, however, attests that the Nintendo Switch's charm is not just limited to the high-rated fantasy game, but it does also offer a good gaming experience. This is because of the advantages of the Joy-Con, which is basically premised on Nintendo's aim to promote local multiplayer collaboration.

The most notable drawback is the utter lack of available games, most especially, top-rated games that are commonly enjoyed in the PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

As of the moment, there are only a total of nine games available for the console, with the others still slated for a later release date, like the upcoming "Super Mario Odyssey," which is expected by the holiday season.

Aside from "Breath of the Wild," players can enjoy games such as "Bomberman R" and "Snipperclips" as of the moment.

Sales for the console are also reportedly doing well, as reported by a New York Times reporter. No numbers were specified, but the first two days of release were the highest-recorded ones for the company, putting the Wii down to second.

In addition, "Breath of the Wild" also became the best-selling standalone title upon launch as it was not bundled as a freebie of the Nintendo Switch console.

Despite reports of good sales, there were problems encountered by people who pre-ordered their Nintendo Switch from Amazon.

Apparently, the leading online retailer is still waiting for their stocks to arrive. Interested gamers who have not yet reserved a unit are also encouraged to visit the nearest Toys R Us branch in their area, as this is reportedly the surest way to get the console.
