Oculus Announces 30 Titles For The Rift Virtual Reality Headset
With just a couple of weeks until Oculus launches its highly-anticipated Rift virtual reality headset, fans are waiting to hear more about what games will be available on the device.
It was revealed that Oculus recently announced the 30 titles that are compatible with the Rift virtual reality headset during the Game Developers Conference. The company stated that one of the 30 games will be given with every order of the new headset.
Those interested in purchasing the Rift headset will be shipped out to those who preordered the device as early as Mar. 28. However, the head of Oculus, Jason Rubin, explained that there will be plenty more projects to be added before the release of the device.
While the price for each game varies, currently the most expensive game is "EVE: Valkyrie" and "Elite Dangerous." Each of the both games runs at $59 USD a piece. Another title in the high price range is "Chronos," which is expected to cost around $49 USD. Other titles, such as "Adrift" and "Radial G" are just $20 USD, some games are even within the $10 price range.
Rubin addressed the large price range for the games compatible with the Oculus headset. As reported by The Verge, he said, "Some of these games are big experiences. Some of these games are not as big an experience. But if you're paying a sixth of the money for a sixth of the experience, that's [an] equal amount of value."
Meanwhile, the Oculus headset, which costs around $600 USD, is expected to come with a freegame called "Lucky's Tale." Those who pre-ordered the headset will also receive a copy of "EVE: Valkyrie" with their purchase. With that, The Verge has provided the list of titles that can be purchased when the headsets release on Mar. 28.
