'Once Upon a Time' Season 4 Spoilers: New Cast Member Announced but Role a Mystery; Other Storylines Revealed

"Once Upon a Time" already has four new characters joining the cast, and now a new member has been announced, though her role has not been revealed yet. Elizabeth Mitchell from "Lost" will star on the episode for several episodes in a "possibly malevolent" role.

Mitchell will be part of the "Frozen" storyline, which will feature Queen Elsa and Princess Anna. What role will she take, though? It's possible that she could come on as the girls' mother, who was supposedly lost at sea, or another force trying to bring down the Queen. "Once Upon a Time" creators have said that their storyline will pick up after the events portrayed in the Disney movie.

TVLine interviewed series creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis about the upcoming season and all it could entail.

Elsa could pose a serious threat to the residents of Storybrooke, especially Rumple, who seemed terrified of the chamber where Elsa was locked up. Disney almost cast her as a villain in "Frozen," but decided to give her a redeeming quality through her relationship with her sister.

Another major storyline involves Robin Hood, Maid Marian, and Regina. Robin Hood assumed that Marian was lost to him forever, but viewers did not know why. That has yet to be revealed, as does the fact that Regina was going to have Marian executed. Robin has no idea that Regina had that intention, but it is sure to have serious repercussions should they continue on with their relationship.

"Something clearly happened that we'll explore next season, where they were separated and she died – and he certainly didn't think the Evil Queen killed her. There's a story to be told," Horowitz explained.

As for Emma and Hook, well, their relationship could still have several bumps in the road, according to Horowitz.

"Give 'em time. They had a nice moment, but we're not fast-forwarding to ordering in Chinese and watching movies," he joked.

"Once Upon a Time" returns this fall on ABC.
