'Orange Is the New Black' Season 4: 'Mad Men' Creator In The Director's Chair For One Episode

"Orange is the New Black" is about to welcome "Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner as a director in season 4.

Weiner will reportedly direct at least one episode in "Orange Is the New Black" season 4. Fans are expecting the "Mad Men" creator to work his magic in the series even though he did not write the script, according to a Vanity Fair report cited by Realty Today (RT).

The "Mad Men" executive is known to be stubborn when it comes to implementing his own way. Plus, he revealed a few times that he is a control freak, and this quality translates into carefully directed series episodes, the report details.

Weiner sitting on the director's chair of "Orange Is the New Black" would mean no spoilers or hints being leaked. He is known to stay mum when asked about a certain project he is working on. The director has not released a comment on this project, but reports say he loves it.

Meanwhile, Weiner is not the only special guest director for "Orange Is the New Black" season 4 because Jodie Foster, Nicole Holofcener, and Allison Anders are also of the same rank, Christian Today reports.

For "Orange Is the New Black" star Laura Prepon, Weiner is a great director because he knows exactly what he wants to achieve, UpRoxx says. The actress also said Weiner knows how to handle a cast as huge as theirs.

"We filmed a huge day on Sunday, and a lot of directors might have been overwhelmed by that, but he wasn't and he knew exactly what he wanted to do," RT quotes Prepon's statement. "... I love Matt — he's awesome."

Prepon, however, did not give a hint about the plot of the episode that Weiner is directing. However, she mentioned that her character is about to get into trouble, the report relays.

"Orange Is the New Black" season 4 is set to air sometime in 2016.
