'Orange Is the New Black' Season 4 News: Judy King Enters Litchfield and Finds a Friend in Poussey
The upcoming season of "Orange Is the New Black" is getting ever so close, and with the excitement for a new installment, a new inmate will join the women of Litchfield. Unlike other inmates who immediately found enemies, this new gal will find a friend.
In a recent interview with TV Guide, Blair Brown shared a few details that fans should know about Judy King, a cooking show host who gets to spend time behind bars in Litchfield. Fans know her from season 3, and while not much of her story has been told, season 4 will allow fans to enter Judy's life.
Referring to her character, Brown said, "She's [Judy] slightly appalling and very good and very cheerful and probably fairly amoral. And it's interesting to watch because she's so other than anybody else in prison. And of course, Judy's greatest ally when she comes in is Poussey Washington."
Poussey (Samira Wiley) has always been a great fan of Judy, and as expected, they will immediately click once Judy steps inside prison. While Brown's character may be compared to famous culinary icon Martha Stewart, who served time in jail in 2004, Brown said there is more to her role than her conviction.
Melty suggests that with the help of Poussey, Judy may not have to go through the pins and needles of the usual initiation processes for newcomers. Obviously Poussey will immediately come to Judy's rescue in case any of the inmates find fault in her.
Meanwhile, other reports suggest that the upcoming season's plot won't just focus on Piper (Taylor Schilling) and other major characters; instead, doors will be opened for other characters to be explored. It is also rumored that Piper will become a person that fans won't adore anymore in the upcoming installment.
It is unclear what will push Piper to change, but previous reports state that she will go through a really stressful situation that will lead to her changed behavior and personality.
"Orange Is the New Black" season 4 is expected to start airing on Netflix this June.
