OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 Problems Persist, Recent 10.10.2 Update Doesn't Fix Problems
Apple has been having problems with their OS X Yosemite software for Macbooks and iMacs and only released 10.10.1 last week in a bid to fix the problems which has been plaguing their users. However, it seems that not only has the update not fixed anything but only made the problems much worse.
Apple has claimed that the 10.10.1 update has brought out Wi-Fi stability which was present in the previous version. However, the Apple discussion forums are still getting complaints from users who are still experiencing connectivity problems.
On Apple's Support page, the largest thread pertaining to this problem is titled "OS X Yosemite Wi-Fi issues" and has already garnered a total of 1,330 comments and has been viewed over 259,000 times. This has been ever since Yosemite has been made available to download mid-October.
One of the comments read, "I had 0 problems with 10.10 Yosemite but now that I have upgraded to 10.10.1 I have severe WiFi connection issues and it appears that this update has not been properly product tested."
"Yup. Here on 10.10.1 on the same Retina Macbook Pro. Drops out about every 10 minutes for about 30-40 seconds, then remains somewhat stable for another 10 minutes before doing the same over and over again," another user said.
Other users say that they would see an error message before a video plays while others report total browser crashes when they try to play videos. While it may seem that it lies with the OS X, some have speculated that it may be at the streamers end – usually YouTube.
In response to the issues, Apple has released a second update 10.10.2 to deal with the issues of 10.10.1. However, it seems that nothing has changed with the release.
