'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' News: Release Pushed to Memorial Day
For some months now, there have been very few bits of news regarding the development of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," but recently, it has been revealed that the fifth installment of the hit franchise will release earlier in 2017.
Initially, the movie was slated for release on July 7, 2017; however, some things happened behind the scenes, connecting the moved release date to "Star Wars: Episode VIII." According to Vulture, the next "Star Wars" movie has been moved to December 15, 2017, instead of the May 2017 Memorial Day that Disney is known for.
According to Slash Film, Memorial Day is very special for the "Force" since it has hosted the first six movies of the franchise. However, there are still a lot of things to go down before "Episode VIII" releases, leading Disney to replace the hit franchise with another movie that will fit the big day.

With no film to be inserted for release during the grand weekend, Disney has opted for the cunning and sly Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) to take the lead. The fifth movie in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series will now be launched on May 26, 2017, for the sake of Disney's Memorial Day to remain in the hearts of fans.
The upcoming movie will see Depp and Orlando Bloom's return as Jack Sparrow and Will Turner, respectively. It is unclear how involved Turner will be in Jack's new mission to keep himself alive and away from the threat of Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem). It is rumored that Will and Jack will once again ignite their friendship from the past and make sure that they will emerge alive despite Captain Salazar's threat.
Joining him are newbies Kaya Scodelario and Brenton Thwaites, who will play the role of Henry, Will and Elizabeth Swann's (Keira Knightley) long-lost son. Rumor has it that the two new faces will find love in each other, though there is no official confirmation yet.
Knightley has said that she won't return to the franchise so fans can expect that her character has already been killed off in the movie and she will probably be represented in another way, instead of her appearance.
