'Pokémon Go' Eevee Evolution: Tricks to Evolve Eevee

Niantic's mobile "Pokémon GO" game has quite revived the interest of some players after a major update that added several more Pokémon monsters that can be caught and evolved.

Players and experts of the game, however, continue to discover and explore more tricks in-game, most especially when it comes to evolving Eevee.

For those who don't know yet, Eevee can easily evolve through a simple renaming trick.

To turn it into Flareon (fire-type), Eevee should be renamed to Pyro; to change it to Vaporeon (water-type), it should be called Rainer.

To evolve it into Jolteon (lightning-type), it should be renamed to Sparky, while changing its name to Sakura or Tamao will evolve Eevee into Espeon (psychic-type) and Umbreon (dark-type) respectively.

There is also another way to evolve Eevee into the psychic-type Espeon, or the dark-type Umbreon, but it would involve lots of walking.

To successfully do this trick, evolving Eevee into Espeon should be done around 4:00 a.m. up to 5:59 p.m., while turning it to Umbreon should be done around 6:00 p.m. to 3:59 a.m.

To start this evolution trick, players should choose Eevee as their Pokémon buddy and walk at least two kilometers while collecting a minimum of two candies.

Obviously, the renaming process is much easier than the Eevee Pokémon buddy one, but it would also depend on what type of Pokémon should the player wish to evolve its Eevee into.

For the record, however, the renaming trick will only work once for each Pokémon type, and before players can successfully use any of the mentioned Eevee evolving tricks, they should have at least collected 25 candies.

"Pokémon GO" rose to popularity last year because it is one of the first known mobile games to incorporate an augmented reality gameplay. Game developer Niantic, however, gets frequent complaints about server and technicality issues, especially when several players log into the game at the same time.
