'Pokémon Go' Gen 2 Eggs, Monsters News: New Hatchable Pokémon at 10 Km
Niantic's new "Pokémon GO" update had been effective so far as it revived the game's interest for many of its players.
The major addition to the update are the 80 plus new Pokémon characters from the Johto region, which includes the likes of Totodile, Cyndaquil and Chikorita.
Some of these Pokémon can only be caught in the "wild," or most probably, around a neighbor's lot. Meanwhile, some new Pokémon eggs can now be hatched at 10 kilometers like Larvitar, Mareep, Pineco, Gligar, Skarmory, and possibly many more.
Aside from that, the update added new candies that are to be used for evolving Pokémon, along with special Evolution Items such as the Sun Stone, Dragon Scale, and King's Rock.
Each evolution item will have a special result whenever paired with a specific type of Pokémon.
According to Slash Gear, players can get Kingdra after evolving Seadra using a Dragon Scale. Combining Sun Stone and Gloom will also result to a Bellossom, while combining King's Rock with Poliwhirl will result to Politoed.
Other features were also added to the game along with the new update. These include a night-mode map, bug fixes and connectivity enhancements for Apple Watch users. Poké balls and berries are also easily accessible as they are now placed in the encounter screen.
Niantic reportedly teased fans that more updates are coming along the way. The developer previously confirmed that they are currently working on trading and player-vs-player battle modes for the game, which are the most requested features from fans.
Upon Niantic's rollout of this update, it experienced some technical glitches as their servers tried to cope with the thousands of trainers who were logging in again to the game. This did not seem much of a problem though as it signified the revival of the game's success, which experienced a slump on September 2016.
