'Pokemon Go' Gen 3 Halloween Event News: Details About Event Period, Rewards and New Pokemon Revealed

The "Pokemon Go" Gen 3 Halloween event had just begun, and here are what players can expect.

Niantic has officially started the Halloween event of the popular game "Pokemon Go" on Oct. 20, Friday, and after much anticipation it has been finally revealed that the event will also serve as the official launch of the third generation of Pokemon. For a month now, it was speculated by trainers and fans of the game that Niantic will use the event to introduce the new Pokemon that would give more color and spice to trainers.

Trainers can definitely expect new monsters and faces to join the game. Not only that, they would also be given the chance to catch these Gen 3 Pokemon. However, the only ones available for catching during this event are Ghost-type Pokemon which definitely makes sense seeing as that the event is all about Halloween. Among these Pokemon are Sableye and Banette.

The event will run until the second of November. Along with this, certain Pokemon will be available albeit in a limited time and creatures such as Gastly (a Ghost-type Pokemon) will become a lot more common in the game. Not only that, Niantic had also revealed that more Pokemon will be arriving to the game once December hits for the Pokemon Sapphire and Ruby crossover.

It is still unknown if Pokemon trainers will be able to catch Mewtwo during this event. It should be remembered that in the Equinox event, players were given a chance to catch this popular Pokemon with two Mewtwo raids. Furthermore, there may not be any legendary type Pokemon available for the Halloween event.

What's certain, however, is that Pikachu will be getting a Halloween outfit for this event.

As for the rewards, trainers who go trick-or-treating with their Pokemon will be receiving extra Candy. Not only that, the Candy will also be doubled for every Pokemon caught, hatched and transferred. Players should expect more Candy this Halloween event.
