Pokemon X and Y Glitch Creates Multiplying Mystery Egg Acquired Through Trade

There is a new glitch within the Pokemon X and Y game that may occur while making a trade with another gamer, and it is called the Mystery Egg.

Gamers can run into the problems through Wonder Trade. IBTimes reported that while a trade may occur smoothly, a glitchy Pokemon may take its place and transform into an egg that serves no purpose. It can not be hatched, released, or traded. It just takes up space.

However, that is not where the problems end. This Mystery Egg can begin to multiply and essentially spread a virus to the PC box they are located in within the game.

"Mystery Eggs can corrupt the PC box that they're in and can also corrupt every Pokemon within that box, as well as any other box it's been in. EVERY BOX THE EGG HAS BEEN IN WILL BECOME INFECTIOUS," said an official announcement from the game's Facebook.

The best way to deal with the problem is to set the egg in its own box and not touch or try to do anything with it.

Previously the game had been dealing with a glitch that broke the game after trying to save it in a specific spot, Nintendo then released a patch on the eShop to fix the problem.

The best news about the game fix is that it allows users to pick up where they left off in the game as long as they did not delete the original save file. The patch will also fix a bug that brought up a communication error that occurred during the Global Trade System, according to Escapist Magazine.

To access the patch, gamers should log on to the eShop and download it directly, or they can use the 3DS camera QR code scanner to scan a specific code for both the X and Y version. The patch is 229 save blocks big.

The problem started when gamers began reporting issues when trying to save outside the streets of Lumiose City. The whole game would freeze and can only be disrupted by shutting off the 3DS. However, even then rebooting the game would not fix the problem because the game will load right back to the point of the freeze. The only option was to delete the save file and start the game over again, causing huge frustration for game players.

Pokemon X and Y sold over 4 million copies globally its launch weekend.
