'Power' Season 5 News: Starz Promotes Brandon Victor Dixon to Series Regular
Terry Silver (Brandon Victor Dixon) will become a major player on the fifth season of "Power."
Dixon has been promoted to series regular on the hit Starz drama, according to reports. Dixon previously recurred as the attorney for Ghost (Omari Hardwick) and Tasha St. Patrick (Naturi Naughton). Further details about his character's fate in season 5 have yet to be revealed.
Although what's next for Terry remains unclear, Dixon's promotion suggests he will have a much bigger role in the upcoming installment. It makes perfect sense since the previous season wrapped up with Tasha turning him down. She did, however, hire him to represent her in case she gets arrested for murdering Ray Ray (Marcus Callender).
"She wants to get Terry in a position where he can't speak about anything he saw," executive Courtney Kemp told TVLine after the season 5 finale. Kemp also noted that it's possible Tasha also feels the same way Terry loves her. "But the love of a child is always going to be stronger than the love of a man," she stressed.
News of Dixon's promotion comes nearly a month after fellow cast member Larenz Tate was upped to series regular.
Meanwhile, a new promo image for the highly anticipated new season suggests that Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) could transform into the new version of his father, Ghost. The show's official Twitter account tweeted a new photo featuring Tariq as he looks into the mirror. "Like father, like son," reads the caption.
Fans might already know that Tariq's presence in the series continues to grow since his first appearance. If the new teaser is to be believed, he could be prepared to take center stage and take over his father's spot.
As announced last month, filming for the fifth season of "Power" is now underway.
The fifth season of "Power" premieres next year on Starz.
