Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Expected to Announce Engagement Soon

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may just be waiting for the right moment to announce their engagement.

Since their first public appearance as a couple during the Invictus Games last month, fans have been wondering if Harry and Markle are already engaged. The happy couple has been dating for over a year now and insiders claim they have already taken their relationship to the next level. Harry has allegedly proposed to the Toronto-based actress, but the redheaded prince wants to keep it a secret until he celebrates the news with his family first.

A source told Us Weekly that Harry has always wanted to share the news with his relatives first "before word spread." But the official announcement, added the source, will be revealed "soon."

Royal insiders predict the announcement will likely happen next month, right after Markle finishes filming for her seventh and final season of "Suits." A source close to Markle explained that making the proclamation sooner will be a "security nightmare" because the actress would be followed everywhere she goes.

Once the TV star completes her work on the USA Network drama, she will be living in London to be with the royal family. She will be there to help plan the so-called "detailed media rollout," which includes a small photo call at the Kensington Palace. She is also expected to do a special interview that will be aired around the world.

The Daily Beast points out that Markle has been recently getting security detail from U.K. taxpayer-funded police, a concrete proof that their relationship is really serious. During the Invictus Games, Markle was escorted by British police. Official police protection is usually assigned for wives and fiancées of high-profile personalities, instead of mere girlfriends.
