'Quantico' Season 2 News, Updates, Spoilers: Alex Pretends to be a Terrorist; Raina Realizes Why She Wasn't Killed Off
"Quantico" Season 2 left everyone's favorite CIA agent in a pretty bad place. In a bid to get more intel on the terrorists who had just recently beheaded the First Lady of the United States, Alex Parrish (Priyanka Chopra) had infiltrated their building, only to find herself in grave danger. The last episode saw to a huge twist as her mentor, Miranda Shaw (Aunjanue Ellis) made contact with the terrorists inside informing them that Alex is inside the building. Now the question remains: whose side is Miranda on?
Sadly, viewers did not get a prompt answer to that, as "Quantico" Season 2 Episode 3 had to give way to the nationwide coverage of the US Presidential Debates. Fans can expect the show to get right back on track come Oct. 16, and with its return promises a lot more surprises - and threats - for Alex Parrish and Ryan Booth (Jake McLaughlin).
Spoilers for 'Quantico' Season 2 Episode 3
Thankfully, the one week hiatus had been very productive for "Quantico" Season 2 Episode 3 spoilers. The promo for the third episode, titled "Stescalade," showed Miranda telling Alex to be careful after all, which means she's off the hook - for now. Alex then dons some serious terrorist gear to escape the building and gather more intel. There are images of shootings and terrorists gunning down the ceilings. Then, Nimah Amin (Yasmine Al Massri), seemingly sees or hears something offcam, making her realize that Alex was alive and well.
The official synopsis for "Quantico" Season 2 Episode 3 also revealed that the hostage crisis might have some hope after all, as both parties may settle on a tradeoff. The promotional photos, on the other hand, heavily featured Nimah alongside police and Miranda. This corroborates earlier reports that the government might trade Nimah in for someone, seeing as she appeared in the "Quantico" Season 2 Episode 3 promo with the rest of the hostages.
Raina Amin's guile
On the other side of the building, her twin sister Raina is asking herself why she wasn't killed by the terrorists yet. It may be recalled that during "Quantico" Season 2 Episode 3, Raina had slashed a terrorist's wrist as a mark. She and Ryan Booth had suspected that the terrorists were switching out the hostages every time they went out. But instead, the terrorists had instead marked everyone with the same wrist wound.
Apparently, however, the clue lay in her continued survival. In an interview with TVGuide, "Quantico" showrunner Josh Safran revealed that Raina would soon figure out why she wasn't killed off. He further hinted that the conspiracy they were dealing with - the hostage-taking - may actually not be the primary conspiracy at hand. While coyly dodging more questions, Safran promised that she would use this information in "Quantico" Season 2 Episode 3.
"Quantico" Season 2 Episode 3 will resume its Sunday run on Oct. 16.
